AUTHOR FAVOURITES: THE LAST LAWMAN by PETER BRANDVOLD

Peter Brandvold writes westerns under his own name and as FRANK LESLIE, including two best described as ‘horror/westerns.’
When I asked Peter about his favourite of his own books he exhibited the Doug Hocking trait of picking two!
One of the two is his first ‘Rusty Spur’ western THE LAST LAWMAN
where aging lawman Spurr Morgan pursues a gang of outlaws nicknamed The Vultures.

Right from page one the reader is treated to rip-roaring action, leavened with salty humour, which powers the story along. As one reviewer put it: ‘Brandvold starts the book off with a bang, ends it with a bang and lots of bangs in between.’
The aging lawman theme brought to mind Richard Widmark in ‘DEATH OF A GUNFIGHTER’

or Charlton Heston in ‘THE LAST HARD MEN.’

Reviews:
‘Deputy Marshal Spur Morgan may be an old dog but he has a lot of bark left in him… Has a great, great ending.’
‘One of the best, could not put it down.’
‘This is a fast action western with twist, and turns… I loved it.’
